The Learning Support Center ("LSC") is there to help you. Not just with understanding stuff, but also helping you learn how to work better. There are teachers and CAS students there to support you. This could make just that difference that you need... pop by the LSC and ask them what's best for you!

Extra math sessions are free and open to all. Students may drop in at any time without signing up, and may leave at any time. These sessions can prove to be extremely helpful and create an atmosphere of mutual support and learning.
Les séances de mathématiques supplémentaires sont gratuites et ouvertes à tous. Les élèves peuvent venir à tout moment sans inscription, et peuvent partir à tout moment. Ces sessions peuvent s'avérer extrêmement utiles et créer une atmosphère de soutien mutuel et d'apprentissage.

CAS tutoring
Another good place to find extra help is from other students. Many are good at Maths, and they may be interested in giving Maths tutoring for CAS credit. It's a win-win proposition. Take the initiative to take advantage of this opportunity!

math tutors for LGB Secondary
It is the Math department's experience that students who work with an external math tutor often fall into a counter-productive dynamic in which they feel that low efforts in the classroom are acceptable, due to the safety net of having a tutor to consult / catch-up. The department therefore advises students to take advantage of the above mentioned math support options as a first resort. Naturally, this requires organization & effort, which is a valuable asset in itself.
There are nevertheless specific circumstances that may warrant the engagement of a tutor. Discuss the situation with your teacher, and if you decide that a tutor may be beneficial, then the below information will be useful.
L'expérience du département de mathématiques suggère que les élèves qui qui travaillent avec un tuteur externe tombent souvent dans une dynamique contre-productive dans laquelle ils estiment que de faibles efforts en classe sont acceptables, en raison du filet de sécurité d'avoir un tuteur avec qui ils peuvent rattraper. Le département conseille donc aux élèves de profiter des options de soutien mathématique mentionnées ci-dessus en premier recours. Naturellement, cela nécessite de l'organisation et des efforts, ce qui est un atout précieux en soi.
Il existe néanmoins des circonstances spécifiques qui peuvent justifier l'engagement d'un tuteur. Discutez de la situation avec votre enseignant, et si vous décidez qu'un tuteur peut être utile, alors les informations ci-dessous seront utiles.
